The first scientific conference

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Na'im Al-Abboudi, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Awad Mahmoud Raouf, President of Tikrit University, and with the follow-up of Assistant Professor Dr. Abdullah Mohammed Tayawi, Dean of the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences, the College of Physical Education and Sports Sciences held its first scientific conference. The conference was attended by the deans of the colleges of Physical Education and Sports Sciences in Iraqi universities. The conference, held under the slogan "With knowledge, minds ascend and with sports, bodies are built," opened its proceedings on Sunday and Monday, 10th-11th December 2023. The opening ceremony began with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the national anthem, and then a speech by the University President, in which he welcomed the attendees and guests. He emphasized that Tikrit University fully supports sports and athletes, as well as specialized studies in this field. He also urged researchers and specialists in the field of sports sciences to focus on specialized scientific programs to develop and prepare rigorous scientific studies that enable those involved in sports activities to achieve the goal of scientific and academic integration with the art of sports. The Dean of the College of Physical Education then delivered a speech in which he discussed the efforts exerted by the college over three consecutive months to hold this conference, which is considered the first of its kind in the college. He praised the role of the university presidency in providing full support and overcoming all obstacles to ensure its success.
